I bought DIP’s oil free readymade canapes which can be topped in so many ways. This is one of the ‘short break’ snacks I give my children as it is easy to finish in 15 minutes and is tasty too! It is a quick snack. The only thing you need to prepare is the potato mash.
Pressure cook or steam and peel a few potatoes. Mash alongwith salt to taste, a pinch of oregano and a little chopped coriander.
Press a little potato paste followed by a sprinkling of thin ‘barik sev’ (Indian crispies made with chickpea flour), a little grated cheddar cheese (Amul’s cubes), a pinch of black salt and some chopped coriander leaves. Ready to EAT!!I had once made this as a snack for one of the kids’ birthday parties by topping the dip canapes with a little mint and tamarind chutney over the sev and it had been an instant hit!
